The proposed amendment to increase taxation on horse racing betting was withdrawn by the French government from the Social Security Financing Bill (PLFSS) which is currently tabled in the French Senate, the Jour de Galop reported on Friday. The news follows a Paris-based protest held by the racing industry on Thursday. The PLFSS will now be examined by senators on Nov. 13.
