Frigid temperatures caused a second straight day of cancellations at Mahoning Valley Race Course and Parx Racing Tuesday. Temperatures in the Philadelphia area reached only into the upper teens Tuesday, with real feel temperatures in the single digits. The projected high temperature near Mahoning Valley in Ohio Tuesday was 13 degrees. Both tracks were also forced to cancel their Monday race cards.
Live racing at Aqueduct in Ozone Park, NY and Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Canada were cancelled Sunday due to high winds impacting much of the East Coast. Aqueduct abandoned racing following Race 2, while Woodbine cancelled after the day's third race. The National Weather Service forecast calls for sustained high winds and gusts in excess of 40 mph throughout the day. Aqueduct's GIII Pebbles Stakes, which will be run at 1 1/16-miles on the outer turf, and the Forever Together Stakes will be brought back on Sunday, Nov. 23. Entries...
