Former Group 1-winning jockey Bruce Raymond has died. More recently racing manager for some of the biggest owners of the sport, he was 82. The victory of Rainstorm in the 1962 Newbury Autumn Cup was a breakthrough win for Raymond, who was also successful in the July Cup, Nunthorpe Stakes, and Ayr Gold Cup. A three-time winner of the Haydock Sprint Cup, Raymond never won a Classic race, but did finish second with Blue Judge (Rainbow Quest) in the 1993 Derby. Barry Mahon Appointed As Juddmonte Racing Manager

Barry Mahon will succeed Teddy Grimthorpe in the role of European racing manager for Juddmonte from June 21. He will also continue in his role as stud director in Ireland.  It was announced in April that Grimthorpe would stand down from his position following Royal Ascot, after which Mahon will start his new role which will see him liaise with Juddmonte's trainers in the UK, France and Ireland. John Hammond Appointed Racing Manager for Gerard Augustin-Normand

Trainer John Hammond, who trained G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heros Montjeu (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) and Suave Dancer (Green Dancer), has been appointed racing manager to Gerard Augustin-Normand, Jour de Galop reported on Wednesday. Sylvain Vidal remains an advisor to Augustin-Normand, who raced Le Havre (Ire) (Noverre) and stands him at Haras de Montfort et Preaux. The rest of the staff maintain their current positions.
