Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Opens Sixth Annual Calendar Photo Contest

The sixth annual calendar photo contest for inclusion in the 2027 Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance calendar is now open for submissions, the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) announced Monday morning. Submissions should showcase Thoroughbreds, and must be relevant to the mission of the TAA as well as adhere to the criteria specified in the official contest rules. New Vocations Kicks Off Capital Campaign For Lexington Expansion

Edited Press Release New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program has officially launched the Phase 2 Capital Campaign to expand operations at its Lexington, Kentucky facility at Mereworth Farm. MHBA Creates Aftercare Account for Maryland-Breds

The Maryland Horse Breeders Association (MHBA) has announced the creation of an aftercare account that will direct funds to support Maryland-bred racehorses as they are retired and preparing for their second career. The account, called BackStop, will be funded by extracting a $25 fee from each Maryland-bred registration submitted. BackStop funds will not replace or relieve the responsibility of the owner, breeder or trainer to arrange for aftercare for their retirees. Treo Eile, an Irish non-profit assisting racehorse trainers and owners who wish to rehome and retrain their racehorses after racing, launched their website on Feb. 20.
