Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) has announced updated eligibility criteria which allows all Thoroughbreds bred for racing worldwide, but located in Britain, to register with RoR free of charge.  Previously only horses who had raced or had been in training with a licensed trainer were eligible for registration. Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) has received a £321,000 grant from the Racing Foundation and the John Pearce Foundation for its project, 'Improving the Framework to Support Horses' First Step Out of Training', the charity announced on Thursday. From January 2025, a new mandatory levy will be collected from sales companies, vendors and purchasers across the board at British auction houses. This will provide vital extra funding for racehorse aftercare through British racing's official charity Retraining of Racehorses (RoR).
