Cross Gate Gallery will present a retrospective of more than 20 pieces by artist Peter Howell entitled, "Forty Years in Saratoga" as part of its annual exhibition at Fasig-Tipton's Humphrey S. Finney sales pavilion in Saratoga Springs, NY. The British-born artist, a former trainer and jumps jockey, first starting exhibiting in Saratoga in 1978. Marylou Whitney, the 93-year-old socialite, philanthropist and racehorse owner whose vivacious personality, boundless generosity, and lavish sense of style helped to define the classy Saratoga experience that has evolved over several generations, passed away on Friday at her Cady Hill estate in Saratoga Springs, New York, after an extended illness.
