The decision was made following a lengthy weather delay prior to sixth race with steady rain forecast into early evening. Exactas, Trifectas and Superfectas were refunded. The Sunshine meet will resume Friday with a nine-race program.

A power outage right before the sixth race Sunday afternoon forced Tampa Bay Downs to cancel the remainder of their card while Aqueduct pre-emptively abandoned the Monday fixture in advance of forecasted high winds. The first reported issues Sunday at Tampa Bay Downs occurred shortly before the start of the sixth race when the power went off as the horses were behind the gate. That contest was cancelled, according to a series of tweets from the official X account, about an hour later but the remaining races were still scheduled...

With severe weather and excessive rainfall expected to continue to make its way through the New Kent area, Colonial Downs has cancelled live racing for Friday, July 12. A plan for rescheduling the missed races will be provided by Colonial Downs as soon as it is available and all ticket purchases for Friday will be refunded. The track does expect a full card of live racing for Saturday, July 13.

According to the National Weather Service, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located eight miles west of Richmond, Kentucky, moving in an eastward direction at 55 mph.
