Authentic Filly Nahla Revs Up at Horseshoe Indy

A day after the closest finish in the history of the the legendary 500-mile road race not far away, there was horse power of a different variety on display at Horseshoe Indianapolis when Shadwell Stable's well related Nahla (Authentic) graduated in convincing style to enhance her future residual value. They didn't need a photo finish to call the winner of this one. The bay filly ran very well against much tougher in her first two appearances, finishing second over an extended mile at Tampa on debut Feb. 28 before rounding...

The £45,000 Goffs UK Premier yearling went postward as a 13-2 chance for the six-furlong contest and registered a 1 3/4-length verdict at the Berkshire venue. Raaheeb Ruled Out of Derby; Field Of Gold to Miss Lockinge

Owners Shadwell have announced that the unbeaten Raaheeb (Sea The Stars) will not run in the Betfred Derby. A full-brother to the outstanding Baaeed and multiple Group 1 winner Hukum, Raaheeb won his only start at two and was a very impressive winner of the G3 bet365 Classic Trial at Sandown last week. Plans remained fluid in the aftermath of that success, with Owen Burrows expressing his view that Raaheeb might lack the necessary experience to tackle Epsom. Unfortunately, that decision has now been taken out of the trainer's hands...

Baaeed's Brother Raaheeb Dominates Sandown's Classic Trial

Tricky in the preliminaries but as professional as it gets in the race itself, Shadwell's key three-year-old Raaheeb (Sea The Stars) stamped his class on Friday's G3 Sandown Classic Trial. Smartly away unlike Ballydoyle's 4-6 market-leader Action (Frankel), Baaeed's full-brother who earned TDN Rising Star status on his Ascot debut in September travelled strongly off the early pace under Rossa Ryan and when committed approaching two out had first run on his peers. Staying on powerfully to the line, the 5-1 second favourite who like his other full-sibling Hukum hails...

Essential Quality's Ezum E-Z As You Please at Colonial

Shadwell Stable's Ezum (Essential Quality), a speed-and-fade ninth at longshot odds on seven-furlong debut at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 7, was pounded into even-money favoritism stretching out to a mile Saturday at Colonial Downs and treated his rivals to a 19 1/2-length beating. Soon in front for Flavien Prat, the $485,000 Keeneland November weanling angled down towards the inside and made the running one off the fence while doing it through comfortable fractions up front.
