Shadwell's Erhaab (Chief's Crown--Histoire {Fr}, by Riverman), who won the G1 Derby at Epsom in 1994, died peacefully this week at Batsford Stud. The 30-year-old, the oldest surviving winner of the Blue Riband, had spent the past decade at the Gloucestershire stud. Demand remained strong on the second day of the Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale and Shadwell Estate's Derrinstown Stud continued to sit firmly atop the leading consignor standings. NEWMARKET, UK--A final-session high mark of 250,000gns carried the Tattersalls Horses-in-Training Sale out in ebullient fashion on Thursday. The buyer was Saudi Arabia's Najd Stud, which has been the leading purchaser in Newmarket this week with 14 horses bought for 2,791,000gns. Last year's G1 Sussex S. scorer Mohaather (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) will stand his second season at Shadwell's Nunnery Stud in 2022 for a fee of £15,000, down slightly from his opening price of £20,000.
