After an 18-month stint at Limerick Racecourse as General Manager, Tom Rudd has been reappointed to the Tattersalls Ireland bloodstock department, announced the auction house via press release on Monday. A total of 416 stores have been chosen for the Tattersalls Ireland 2023 Derby Sale, set to take place June 28-29 at Fairyhouse, the sales company announced on Tuesday. All horses catalogued for the Derby Sale are eligible for the 2024 €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper. Goffs and Tattersalls Ireland have committed support of €50,000 each over the next three years toward the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders' Association's National Hunt Fillies Bonus Scheme, the ITBA announced. The support is in addition to the €100,000 from Horse Racing Ireland through the Foal Levy. Established in 2013, the scheme's aim was to enhance the prices of fillies at store sales and encourage breeders to return their fillies in training. There has been a change to the treatment of point-to-point performances in sale company catalogues, the International Cataloguing Standards Committee (ICSC) European sub-committee announced on Friday. Currently, winning British and Irish point-to-point performers are classified as runners, but not as winners in either the subject horse detail or the dam summary line.
