Bango, Churchill's Winningest Horse, Retires

8-year-old Bango (Congrats), Churchill Downs's winningest horse, has been retired, his connections announced on social media Friday. In a video posted to X, trainer Greg Foley said, "Mr. Churchill Downs has blessed Barn 11 in so many ways. Career has been just a testament to what horse racing is all about.  Thanks for everything Bango. Enjoy the next chapter." When the partnership of Qatar Racing and Mrs. Fitriani Hay went to $205,000 to secure Nakatomi (Firing Line) as a 4-year-old at the Fasig-Tipton July Horses of Racing Age Sale in 2023, they were picking up a gelding who was graded stakes placed at Pimlico, Aqueduct and Saratoga.
