Forecasted Severe Weather KO's Saturday Racing At Oaklawn

Due to forecasted severe weather in the Hot Springs area, Oaklawn has canceled live racing and training for Saturday, April 5. Racing is expected to resume as scheduled with Saturday's card moved to Sunday, April 6. They are the second track to be affected by Mother Nature's wrath this weekend as Keeneland was also forced to postpone its Friday and Saturday cards due to weather. Santa Anita Cancels Holiday Monday Program

With additional rain forecast in the area, officials at Santa Anita have announced the cancellation of the live card originally programmed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 16. As was announced when the track revealed that the Saturday, Jan. 14 program was also to be called off, racing will take place Friday, Jan. 20, originally a dark day due to the holiday racing. Several French Tracks Cancel Sunday Cards, ParisLongchamp Still Greenlit

Several racecourses have cancelled their Sunday cards due to the heavy rains and storms sweeping across France, Equidia reported on Saturday. A trotting card at Cazaubon was cancelled and rescheduled for Sunday, Oct. 12, while a mixed card at Vitre has been postponed for a yet-to-be-determined date. Saint-Brieuc's Thoroughbred card was also cancelled. The Arc card at ParisLongchamp on Sunday is still being held.
