Champion jockey Oisin Murphy was suspended for a seven-day period after being found guilty of careless riding at Ayr aboard Tiritomba (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) on Monday. The winning filly appeared to drive across the runner-up Ricksen (GB) (Acclamation {GB}) with Paul Mulrennan in the irons at the finish on Aug. 24. Ky Racing Commission Shoots Down Dutrow Attempt to be Reinstated

Suspended trainer Rick Dutrow's attempts to resume his career were dealt a blow Tuesday by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission's License Review Committee. After hearing from Dutrow and others who testified on his behalf, the committee voted unanimously to allow Dutrow to withdraw his application for a license. All sporting events in Ireland have been suspended following an announcement from the Irish Government. Racing has been continuing to stage meetings behind closed doors since Mar. 13, as countries around the world try to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Florida-based trainer Georgina Baxter has been suspended 25 days and hit with a $7,500 fine after three of her horses tested positive for two non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, according to a report in the Daily Racing Form.
