Equibase Adds Gate-To-Wire Timing To Results Charts

Equibase has added new gate-to-wire timing to all racing result charts, the company announced Thursday. The gate-to-wire times will be in addition to the fractional and official final times already included in charts. Per their report, gate-to-wire times include the run-up distance, which is the untimed, extra distance horses travel from the starting gate to the designated point where the official race distance begins and the timer starts. Florida Derby Time Adjusted

After reviewing the race, Equibase has adjusted the final time for Saturday's GI Florida Derby, won by Forte (Violence). The original time of 1:48.51 has been changed to 1:49.37. In a statement released Sunday by Equibase, the company said that the finish line beam may have been tripped before the horses reached the finish line. Equibase Acquires Timing Assets of ATC

Officials at Equibase Company LLC have announced that it has Axcis Information Inc. (TrackMaster), a wholly owned subsidiary, has entered into an agreement with American Teletimer Corporation (ATC) to acquire the latter's timing assets. ATC is a leading provider of timing, photo finish and video content for Thoroughbred, Standardbred and Greyhound racing and the company will retain the photo finish and television production segments of their business.
