Goodwood Racecourse will honour the memory of late apprentice jockey Tommie Jakes during its annual all-apprentice meeting on Friday, June 5. A dedicated race will be run in memory of Tommie Jakes, who passed away in October last year at the age of 19. Jakes's parents will attend as special guests and present the trophy following the race. Apprentice jockey Tommie Jakes has died at the age of 19, the Injured Jockeys Fund (IJF) and Professional Jockeys Association (PJA) have announced. Ghiani Cops 34-Day Ban Due To Breaking The Whip Rules

Marco Ghiani, the champion apprentice in the UK in 2021, has been handed a 34-day ban by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA)'s Whip Review Committee.
