$350,000 Breeders Bonus to be Awarded at Turfway

A $350,000 bonus will be awarded to breeders of record for horses competing Friday, Mar. 27 at Turfway Park, in conjunction with the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and the Kentucky HBPA, the track announced Monday morning. Breeders will compete for $35,000 in bonuses across each of the 10 races that night. The winner of each race could earn up to $21,000 if the horse is a registered Kentucky-bred. HISA Threatens 'Freeloading' CDI with Cutting Off Ability to Race over Alleged Non-Payment of Assessment Fees

Turfway Park Racing & Gaming will move its Wednesday and Thursday live racing cards to afternoon programs with a 1 p.m. ET first post in response to forecasted single-digit wind chills expected during the evening hours, the track said in a press release on Tuesday. Turfway Park Cancels Live Racing Through Saturday, Jan. 31

Turfway Park Racing & Gaming has canceled its Friday and Saturday Jan. 30-31 live racing cards due to continued subzero wind chill temperatures expected in the Florence, Ky. area. Wednesday and Thursday's cards had previously been canceled amid the prolonged cold conditions, with live racing scheduled to resume Wednesday, Feb. 4. Frigid Temps Force Turfway Cancellations

Live racing has been cancelled at Turfway Park on Wednesday and Thursday due to severe winter weather in the Florence, Kentucky area. Officials from the National Weather Service are forecasting wind chill values to not rise above the single digits over the next 48 hours and dip as low as minus 11 degrees on Wednesday. Turfway Park officials continue to monitor the forecast and will make a determination Wednesday regarding Friday and Saturday's racing cards.
