Wanamaker's April Sale will offer 31 lots comprised of yearlings, 2-year-olds in training, racing prospects, broodmare prospects, broodmares, and mares and foals Apr. 28. Headlining this month's offerings is Jimmy P (Slumber {GB}) (hip 12), a winning 4-year-old gelding who is a full-brother to recent GIII Transylvania S. winner, Sy Dog (Slumber {GB}). Broodmare prospect Bordeaux Belle (Quality Road) topped the Wanamaker's March Sale, selling for $42,500 to Jody and Michelle Huckabay. Consigned by StarLadies Racing, the unraced Bordeaux Belle is out of MSW & GSP Shanon Nicole (Majestic Warrior). Plans are to breed the 3-year-old to Upstart. Broodmare/racing prospect A Merry Prankster (Distorted Humor) topped the Wanamaker's February Sale, bringing $50,000 from Nathan McCauley's River Oak Farm. The catalogue for the upcoming Wanamaker's February Sale, which features 32 hips, was released Wednesday. The catalogue includes nine no-guarantee stallion seasons for 2022, as well as eight broodmares from Ron Lombardi's Mr Amore Stable and two Maryland-bred juveniles from Anchor & Hope Farm. The New York Thoroughbred Breeders (NYTB), in partnership with Wanamaker's, has opened its annual stallion season auction. A total of 49 stallion seasons are available, ranging from Kentucky sires Candy Ride (Arg), Union Rags, and Honor Code to New York stallions War Dancer, Mission Impazible, and Honest Mischief. The seasons are no guarantee and non-refundable. A percentage of proceeds from seasons sold for stallions standing in Kentucky will be donated to the Foundation of Appalachian Kentucky for those impacted by recent tornadoes in the region. The sale will be open to Pennsylvania-bred weanlings, yearlings, and racehorses as well as broodmares and broodmare prospects owned by PHBA members.
