Having already been forced to cancel its live racing program for Saturday, Feb. 7, officials at Laurel Park have called off the card for Sunday, Feb. 8, citing continuing frigid temperatures across the Mid-Atlantic region. Santa Anita Makeup Card Added For Thursday Jan. 8 After Cancellations

Following the cancellation of racing on Wednesday and Thursday, Santa Anita has added a special makeup card for this upcoming Thursday, Jan. 8, according to a press release from the track on Friday. Entries will be taken on Saturday. The program will include both the GIII Robert J. Racing Resumes at Del Mar Sunday as Storm Moves East

After torrential rains hammered much of the west coast on Saturday, outside of a rogue scattered shower or two moving through the area Sunday, the weather and the conditions improved enough to proceed with Del Mar's nine-race card. Racing Saturday was cancelled in anticipation of the heavy rains that blew through Del Mar, flooding the parking lots and portions of the backside stable area. With inclement weather affecting much of the country, Del Mar will cancel the entirety of its card on Saturday, Nov. 15, the track said in a press release on Thursday. The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has canceled live racing at Aqueduct Racetrack on Friday due to high winds forecast to impact the New York City metropolitan area, the organization said in a release that same morning. Colonial Downs Cancels Friday Racing on Account of Severe Weather

With severe weather and excessive rainfall expected to continue to make its way through the New Kent area, Colonial Downs has cancelled live racing for Friday, July 12. A plan for rescheduling the missed races will be provided by Colonial Downs as soon as it is available and all ticket purchases for Friday will be refunded. Florida's Gulfstream Park has cancelled the Thursday, June 13 card due to heavy rains in the area that are expected to last into Wednesday evening. An eight-race card was scheduled Thursday for the Hallandale Beach oval, but the greater area has experienced some flash flooding. Officials at Gulfstream expect live racing to resume Friday, June 14. A nine-race card is currently scheduled with a first post of 12:55 p.m. ET.

Weather Forces Cancellation Of Final Three at Gulfstream

Heavy rains and high winds combined with a forecast indicating that conditions would only worsen forced the cancellation of Saturday's final three races at Gulfstream Park outside of Miami. The $100,000 H. Allen Jerkens S., which had already been transferred to the Tapeta track, has been rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 24 and will be redrawn. Wednesday's eight-race program at Churchill Downs has been cancelled because of excessive heat in the Louisville area. A National Weather Service excessive heat warning for Louisville remains in effect until Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET. Heat index values of 105 to 109 are forecasted for Wednesday. Cancellations of races at Churchill Downs because of weather conditions are rare.
