A total of 106 runners–including a number of stakes and graded stakes performers–are currently entered in Fasig-Tipton's July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. Additional entries will be added up to the day of the sale, which will be held Monday, July 10 at 5:00 p.m. in Lexington, KY. The July Selected Yearling Sale will take place the following day.
“This is our fifth year conducting the Horses of Racing Age Sale, and we feel that this is our strongest catalogue to date,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “The sale has attracted entries from several of the most prominent racing stables in the country, and buyers will find a number of turn-key, quality offerings no matter their budget.”
Of the on-track success of graduates of this sale, Browning added, “Since this sale was first held in 2013, sale graduates have made more than 3,500 starts for their new owners, earning more than $19 million. The sale has also produced 25% stakes horses and more than 40 stakes wins.”
Past graduates of the auction include Wavell Avenue (Harlington), who was acquired for $70,000 by Steve Young in 2014 and went on to annex the following year's GI Breeders' Cup F/M Sprint.
