LINE OF DEPARTURE (Tapit">Tapit), a $1.2-million Keeneland September grad of last year, breaks from the outside gate as he debuts against a salty enough looking bunch for Todd Pletcher. The grey is out of hard-knocking $1.2-million earner Hooh Why (Cloud Hopping), who upended the GI Ashland S. at three but ran until she was seven. Line of Departure is coupled in the wagering with fellow St Elias representative Blind Vision (Shanghai Bobby), who was a close second for a $50,000 tag first up for Gary Gullo at Belmont Sept. 17. Pletcher, meanwhile, also saddles Mike Repole homebred Racing Raven (Overanalyze), who's by these connections' 2013 GI Arkansas Derby winner and a half to their 2016 GIII Miss Preakness S. heroine Lost Raven (Uncle Mo). GSW second dam Summer Raven (Summer Squall) produced graded winners Lewis Bay (Bernardini), Misconnect (Unbridled's Song) and Winslow Homer (Unbridled's Song). Jimmy Jerkens newcomer Orbed (Orb) was a $140,000 KEESEP yearling turned $525,000 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic grad. TJCIS PPs

Richard Mandella unveils the pricy PRAETORIAN (Tiznow) for Alex and JoAnn Lieblong. The grandson of MGSIW November Snow (Storm Cat) was a $40K KEESEP yearling who blossomed into an $850K OBSMAR 2-year-old after a :20 4/5 breeze in which he leveled off well late. The bay's female family also includes GISW Morning Line (Tiznow). Concur (Curlin), himself a $500K OBSMAR pick-up after costing $270K as a Keeneland November weanling, looks to go one better after missing by a nose in Arcadia Oct. 21. The winner from that heat returned to be fourth in the GIII Bob Hope S., but the third-place finisher Greyvitos (Malibu Moon) upended that affair at 19-1. TJCIS PPs
