Cataloged as lot 9, the September-foaled bay–an R275,000 graduate of this year's CTS Premier Yearling Sale–is the first produce from Saldanha Bay (Ire) (Nayef), herself a daughter of Pellinore (Giant's Causeway), a full-sister to G1 2000 Guineas winner and prominent sire Footstepsinthesand (GB). The female family also includes GISW Curvy (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) and her Group 1-winning half-brother Power (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}). Lot 9 was consigned to the sale by Soetendal Estate, agent for the colt's breeder Klawervlei Stud.
From a catalog of 117 juveniles, 109 were sent through the ring of which 99 (90.8%) were reported as sold. Gross turnover was R20,320,000, good for an average of R205,252 and a median price of R140,000.
