Close Hatches (First Defence) headlines a field of 12 entered for the GI Distaff following the defection Sunday of defending champion Beholder (Henny Hughes). An overflow field of 15, including leading 3-year-olds Shared Belief (Candy Ride {Arg}), California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit), Tonalist (Tapit) and Bayern (Offlee) are pre-entered to contest the Classic.
