2026 Member Election Candidates Announced For Breeders' Cup

The ballot for the 2026 election of 22 Breeders' Cup Member positions was released Tuesday by Breeders' Cup Limited. Per their release, the Member election website will open at 9:00 a.m. ET Monday, May 25, and closes at 5:00 p.m. ET Monday, June 1.

Of the 26 candidates on the ballot, 18 are incumbent Members standing for re-election. There are eight new individuals seeking election. The 20 individuals receiving the most votes will each serve four-year terms. Additionally, as the result of two vacancies, two terms lasting two years will be filled by the candidates that finish 21st and 22nd.

Members are elected on a bi-annual basis by Breeders' Cup foal and stallion nominators through a proportional voting system based on level of nominations paid to Breeders' Cup Limited. There are a total of 39 elected Breeders' Cup Members. The Members meet each July and elect individuals to the Board of Directors, which oversees the activities of the organization.

O'Connor, Garrett O'Rourke*, Daisy Phipps Pulito*, Mike Pons*, Jaime Roth*, Tom Ryan*, Phillip Shelton and Shunsuke Yoshida*.
