Keeneland has cataloged 4,145 horses for its 2017 November Breeding Stock Sale to be held Nov. 7 through Nov. 18 in Lexington, the sales company announced Tuesday. The November catalog–which can be found online— is headlined by champion Stellar Wind (Curlin), as well as Grade I winners Lady Eli (Divine Park), Cathryn Sophia (Street Boss), Her Emmynency (Successful Appeal), Al's Gal (English Channel), Paola Queen (Flatter) and Street Fancy (Street Sense).
“Keeneland's September Yearling Sale ended less than two weeks ago with exciting results and momentum for the November Sale,” Keeneland Vice President of Racing and Sales Bob Elliston said. “The November Sale's myriad of offerings that includes proven producers and exciting young mares, well-bred weanlings and talented horses of racing age make it an important destination for buyers from across North America and internationally.”
Of the total 4,145 horses cataloged are 2,036 broodmares and broodmare prospects, 1,682 weanlings, 424 horses of racing age and two stallions. The November Sale routinely yields a number of Grade I winners, and 2017 has been no exception, with graduates Beach Patrol (Lemon Drop Kid), El Deal (Munnings), Lady Ivanka (Tiz Wonderful) and Sporting Chance (Tiznow) all passing through the Keeneland sales ring en route to success at the highest level.
The sale will include 12 sessions, with the first two sessions comprising Book 1 to be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7 and Wednesday, Nov. 8. Books 2-6 will be held Thursday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 18, with sessions beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Print catalogs for the November sale will be available the week of Oct. 16.
