The catalogue for the Arqana February Mixed Sale, scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 14, is now available online at the auction house's website at www.arqana.com.
A total of 307 lots have been catalogued for the single-session event, including 110 mares, 57 maiden fillies, 74 horses in training, 21 2-year-olds, 46 yearlings, one stallion and one stallion prospect.
One of the stars of the horses-in-training section of the sale could come in the form of hip 58, Kalimera (Kitten's Joy), from Wertheimer et Frere. Produced by a half-sister to GI Santa Anita Derby runer-up Setsuko (Pleasantly Perfect), the 4-year-old has been consistent throughout her career, with five placings from as many appearances at three in 2016 and a recent winner at Pornichet for trainer Christophe Ferland. She now sits on a rating of 84.
The dam of dual Classic winner La Cressionnaire (Fr) (Le Havre {Fr}) was purchased out of the 2010 February Sale for just €40,000, and prospective buyers will have a group of well-pedigreed mares from which to choose this time around as well. Haras du Champ Durand offers hip 70, Hold The Thought (GB), the only daughter of Galileo (Ire) in the catalogue. The 14-year-old mare goes through the ring in foal to Zanzibari, the sire of Joyful Trinity (Ire), recently third in the G1 Longines Hong Kong Mile.
