Outgoing CEO Björn Nilsson Named Svensk Galopp Chairman

Björn Nilsson, who in April announced his decision to step down as Svensk Galopp's CEO, has been appointed the organisation's chairman, filling a post vacated by Anders Lilius in March. As a result of Nilsson assuming the chairmanship, his departure as CEO has been moved forward from July 31 and is now effective immediately.

Nilsson will lead a board that includes Anders Jonsson and the re-elected Gisela Jardby, plus new members Peter Wallin, Magnus Alselind and David Crona. Gerhard Bley has resigned from the board but did so after the nomination committee had submitted its list of proposed members, meaning an extraordinary meeting will be held.

A CEO to succeed Nilsson is yet to be announced.
