A Look Ahead With Brian Kavanagh

1) Horse you are most looking forward to seeing this season (and why)?

BK: Moonlight Magic (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire})–unbeaten 3-year-old trained by Jim Bolger. Two runs, two wins as a 2-year-old. By Cape Cross, the sire of Sea the Stars (Ire) and Golden Horn (GB), out of a half-sister to Galileo (Ire) and Sea the Stars. With a pedigree like that the sky's the limit and his trainer has form.

2) A stallion who could feature prominently (doesn't have to be first season)?

BK: It has to be Galileo–he has some wonderful 3-year-old fillies to star in the Classics and I love to see his 2-year-olds appear, usually from May onwards.

3) Positive change you would like to see for the industry in 2016?

BK: That there is some realistic movement towards a single set of medication rules that are enforced globally. We have a global industry and it is not sustainable that there are different standards applied in different parts of the world.
