A Look Ahead With Will Douglass

Will Douglass

1) Horse you are most looking forward to seeing this season (and why)?

WD: Shalaa (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), who Charlie purchased as a yearling. He was an exceptional 2-year-old last year and so tough winning two Group 1s and two Group 2s. I hope that he can go on to do great things this year as a 3-year-old.

2) A stallion who could feature prominently (doesn't have to be first season)?

WD: Bated Breath (GB) (Dansili {GB}). He had some very good yearlings (Charlie bought three). He was unlucky not to be a multiple Group 1 winner and was an incredibly tough horse. He has a very good pedigree and stands at a fantastic farm.

3) Positive change you would like to see for the industry in 2016?

WD: I think it is vital that we keep getting new investors into the industry. It is something that is not really noticed by enough people. If we can make it more appealing to entice them it would be a great help. Racing is so unique and has so many great assets to advertise that everything possible needs to be done to keep the ball rolling.
