Acclamation Filly Joins the Club…
The China Horse Club has been on a spending spree as of late, and it didn't take that organization long to jump into the fray at Tattersalls when its racing and bloodstock manager Michael Wallace prevailed at 300,000gns for a popular Acclamation (GB) filly from Corduff Stud. Lot 16 had at least five different bidders, but Wallace would not be denied for the bay that he “rated very highly.”
“She'll stay in Europe, but there's been so decision made on which part of Europe,” Wallace explained. “She's a lovely athletic filly, very racy sort. We expected her to go for between 250,000gns and 300,000gns.”
The China Horse Club has horses in training in nine different countries, and last weekend celebrated its first Australian Group 1 win with the exciting sophomore filly First Seal (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}), which it owns in partnership. Wallace spent €1.13 million on behalf of the China Horse Club for three yearlings at the Goffs Orby Sale, headed by an €850,000 Sea the Stars colt, and made headlines again over the weekend when buying four–including the top three lots–at Arqana's Arc Sale.
