Gary and Mary West's homebred Actress (Tapit) was 12-1 when she broke her maiden in the May 19 GII Black-Eyed Susan S. at Pimlico, but the lightly raced filly figures to be a much shorter price when she goes postward in the 1 1/16-mile GIII Delaware Oaks Saturday at Delaware Park. Trained by Jason Servis, the gray filly was second behind last Saturday's GII Mother Goose S. winner Unchained Melody (Smart Strike) while debuting over six furlongs at Gulfstream Park Mar. 19 and she was second again while facing My Miss Tapit (Tapit) in the Apr. 22 Game Face S. over seven furlongs. She closed relentlessly to just get her head in front of Lights of Medina (Eskendereya) in the nine-furlong Black-Eyed Susan.
“TDN Rising Star” It Tiz Well (Arch) ships east for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and Tommy Town Thoroughbreds. The dark bay filly, winner of the Mar. 11 GIII Honeybee S. at Oaklawn, was third in the Apr. 8 GI Santa Anita Oaks. She was promoted to fourth after finishing fifth in the June 17 GII Summertime Oaks last time out.
Berned (Bernardini), second in last year's GIII Tempted S., took a May 20 optional claimer at Monmouth while making her first start for trainer Graham Motion in her only previous 2017 outing.
