ISAAC NEWTON (IRE) (c, 2, Camelot {GB}–Etive {SW-Ger & MSP-Fr, $126,693}, by Elusive Quality), a nose shy of stablemate New Zealand (Frankel) when a July 19 debut runner-up over this trip at the Curragh last time, raced in a midfield seventh through halfway here. Urged closer with three furlongs remaining, the 8-13 favourite went third approaching the final furlong and was driven out to prevail by a neck from Evanesco (Too Darn Hot).

“He had a very good run the first day at the Curragh and the third horse [Action] has just won at Galway, so the form looked fairly good,” said Ryan Moore. “I suppose seven furlongs on this track was probably not ideal for him, but he did everything right and got into a nice rhythm and stayed going well. He showed a good attitude and he'll continue to improve from race to race.”

Isaac Newton, kin to the dam of Listed Prix de Saint-Cyr runner-up Wilderness Girl (No Nay Never), is the latest of nine reported foals and third scorer produced by a stakes-winning daughter of Listed Prix des Sablonnets victrix and G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches runner-up Firth Of Lorne (Danehill). Firth Of Lorne is also the dam of multiple Grade I winner Master Of The Seas (Dubawi), stakes-winning G1 St James's Palace Stakes second Latharnach (Iffraaj) and G3 UAE Oaks victrix Falls Of Lora (Street Cry). Falls Of Lora, in turn, is the dam of three black-type winners including multiple Group 1 hero Cascadian (New Approach) and GI Summer Stakes victor Albahr (Dubawi). Falls Of Lora is also kin to the dam of G1 Metropolitan winner Just Fine (Sea The Stars) and last week's G1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis hero Tornado Alert (Too Darn Hot). Sales history: €380,000 Ylg '24 ARQAUG. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $55,980.
