Alfie Solomons (Kantharos), a full-brother to MGISW and GI Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint runner-up World of Trouble, looks to stamp his ticket to this year's World Championships for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint S. in Sunday's Speakeasy S. at Santa Anita. The Wesley Ward pupil went wire-to-wire in his career bow at Kentucky Downs Sept. 12.
Calumet Farm's Mr. Tip (Mr Speaker) also steps up off a debut win, earning his diploma by 3 1/2 lengths on the synthetic at Arlington Sept. 7.
French native Commander (Fr) (War Command) makes his second Stateside start here. Opening his account with a pair of wins in his homeland, the dark bay was fifth in his final start there in the Prix Roland de Chambure July 14. Privately purchased by these connections and transferred to Phil D'Amato, he checked in fourth in the Del Mar Juvenile Turf S. last time Sept. 1. D'Amato also saddles a member of the fairer sex in Greg's Diva (Shackleford), who earned her diploma at third asking when trying turf for the first time at Del Mar Aug. 24.
