Rathasker Stud's G2 July S. hero Anjaal (GB) (Bahamian Bounty {GB}), who also ran third in the G2 Lennox S. in the Shadwell silks, welcomed his first foals recently, the stud announced Thursday. Anjaal covered over 190 mares in his first season at stud in 2016, with one of the earliest results a bay filly out of Mrs. Beeton (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) arriving at Pier House Stud Jan. 11. Out of a half-sister to MGSW and GI Arlington Million S. third-place finisher Stotsfold (GB) (Barathea {Ire}), she is reported to be “physically similar to her father being strong and correct with a nice length of rein.”
Pearly Brooks (GB) (Efisio {GB}) produced a bay colt at Esker Lodge Stud Jan. 16. Gerry Flannery commented, “We are delighted with our Anjaal colt–it is the best foal the mare has every produced–with great shape and good bone.” The third foal for Anjaal is another bay colt out of Danza Nera (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) who appeared Jan. 25 at Vinesgrove Stud. Billy McEnery said, “We couldn't be happier with out Anjaal colt–this is a young and exciting family–he is a half-brother to listed placed Jalapeno (Ire) (Windsor Knot {Ire}).”
Madeline Burns of Rathasker Stud said, “We are extremely pleased to hear great reports from clients on their first Anjaals–a number of his first foals have been born to breeding right holders such as the Morrins, the McEnerys, the Flannerys, and the Hodges, all who have given him fantastic support. A large part of Anjaal's appeal is as a speed outcross for Danehill/Danzig-line mares.”
