+SPIRITUALITY (f, 2, Gemologist–Honky Tonk Rose, by Forest Wildcat) provided her freshman sire (by Tiznow) with a second very impressive first-time starter winner in the span of five days and his third overall with a sparkling display Thursday at Delaware Park. Drawn outside in a field of six runners as the 9-5 betting selection by $123 over second-timer Sneaky Betty (Mineshaft), the WinStar Farm colorbearer attended a modest early pace while trapped out a bit wide and was given her head by Carol Cedeno to cruise to the front midway on the turn. Well clear into the stretch, she widened with every stride and was taken in hand in the final 50 yards to score by eight lengths. A $57,000 Keeneland November weanling, Spirituality fetched $77,000 as a Fasig-Tipton October yearling. Consigned by Cary Frommer to this year's OBS March Sale, she breezed an eighth of a mile in a smooth :10 flat and was hammered down to Steve Castagnola's Kempton Bloodstock for $150,000. Honky Tonk Rose foaled a filly by Cairo Prince (Pioneerof the Nile) earlier this year and was bred by to Paynter (Awesome Again). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $20,400.
