A Denali Stud-consigned son of War Front–Score (A.P. Indy) was knocked down to M. V. Magnier for a final bid of $1.3 million to lead the returns about 90 minutes into the second day of bidding at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in Lexington. The May 17 foal, a half-brother to GSP Timely Tally (Mr. Greeley), is a grandson of dual Grade I winner Educated Risk (Mr. Prospector) from the extended Phipps family of champion Inside Information (Private Account) and her Eclipse Award-winning daughter Smuggler (Unbridled). Though there have been only a handful of foals bred directly from A.P. Indy mares, War Front has accounted for a slew of top peformers out of mares by A.P. Indyﾒs son Pulpit, including TDN Rising Stars Due Diligence and The Great War and MGSW & GISPﾠDeparting. The dam of hip 228 cost DATTT Farm $725,000 in foal to Awesome Again at FTKNOV in 2007.
