Bob Feld, acting on behalf of a partnership that includes longtime clients John and Jerry Amerman, landed the final blow on hip 87, a colt by A.P. Indy out of Malka (Deputy Minister). “I thought it was a fair price,” Feld said. “I thought he might bring more. He's a big beautiful colt by A.P. Indy, and there aren't going to be too many more of them.” Consigned by Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency, agent, the bay boasts the prolific Get Lucky (Mr. Prospector) as his second dam. Malka is a half to GISW Girolamo (A.P. Indy), MGSW Daydreaming (A.P. Indy) and GSW Accelerator (A.P. Indy), and to the dams of GI Kentucky Derby hero Super Saver (Maria's Mon) and GISW Bluegrass Cat (Storm Cat). He was bred by Hill 'n' Dale and Philip Steinberg. A full-sister to the yearling, now named Champagne Courage, was bought by Bobby Flay for $625,000 at FTSAUG 2009.
