Appellate Court Upholds Dutrow License Revocation

A New York Appellate Court has upheld the revocation of the training license of Rick Dutrow Jr., according to several published reports. Dutrow was originally assessed a 90-day suspension for a drug positive and the subsequent discovery of hypodermic needles in his barn, but that suspension was increased by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board to a full revocation. The conditioner appealed the decision, and has been training horses in the interim. He is likely to be able to continue training horses while the New York Court of Appeals, the state's highest court, decides to hear the case or not.
