Repole Stable and Stonestreet will unveil Gallant King (Ire) (Night of Thunder {Ire}) in this nightcap at Gulfstream Park for trainer Todd Pletcher. Purchased for 340,000gns as a yearling in 2024 from the Tattersalls October Yearling sale in England, the chestnut gelding is out of a half-sister to a French Listed winner who went on to become the dam and granddam of six black-type runners. Gallant King's mother, Aeronautical (Medaglia d'Oro), also claims Group 1-placed Holocene (Lemon Drop Kid) as a half-brother as well as that one's full-sister SP-Fr Solar Midnight. This is an active family in Europe with at least eight Group runners hailing from various branches of the female line, and includes the likes of U.S. champion grass mare MGISW Zagora (Fr) (Green Tune). A $350,000 Keeneland September purchase in 2024, Bodacious Bay (Not This Time) will head to post for the first time for trainer Rodolphe Brisset. A half-sister to MGSW Royal Spa (Violence), this daughter of Not This Time comes with big expectations as a cousin to GISW Commandment (Into Mischief) by way of the dam's half-sister GISW Sippican Harbor (Orb). She's been working steadily at Keeneland and ships in for this debut. TJCIS PPs
