Arqana August Catalogue Online

Arqana August graduate Qemah | Racing Post

Fresh off an excellent few weeks that have seen its August Sale graduates win the likes of the G1 Prix du Jockey Club (Almanzor {Fr}) and G1 Coronation S. (Qemah {Ire}), Arqana released the catalogue for the 2016 edition of its flagship sale on Wednesday. There are 375 yearlings set for the three-day sale, which runs Aug. 14 to 16 in Deauville and is followed by the v2 sale in a separate catalogue. The first two days represent Part I of the sale, and the third day Part II.

There are 27 siblings to Group 1 winners set to go under the hammer, and 30 progeny of group winners. More than a third of the catalogue are the first or second foals from their dams, and of the dams with runners, 56% have produced black-type performers (75% in Part I).

The progeny of leading sire Dubawi (Ire) are becoming ever-more elusive in the public marketplace, and Ecurie des Monceaux, which topped last year's sale with a €2.6-million son of the same sire, offers the lone Dubawi in the catalogue: lot 25, a half-sister to G1 Falmouth S. winner Giofra (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) and three other stakes winners.

There are five by perennial champion sire Galileo (Ire) catalogued, including Monceaux's half-sister to G1 Irish Oaks winner Chicquita (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}) (lot 97). There are nine yearlings from the second crop of Galileo's peerless son Frankel (GB) set to sell, including Haras des Capucines's half-brother to Group 2 winner Laugh Out Loud (Ire) (Clodovil {Ire}) (lot 21).

There are two catalogued by the late Scat Daddy, who was responsible for impressive juvenile winners Caravaggio and Lady Aurelia at Royal Ascot, including Newsells Park Stud's first foal of the Grade III-placed Long Face (Whywhywhy) (lot 53).

Other well-related offerings include a half-sister to G1 Prix Jean Prat winner Havana Gold (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) by the red-hot Sea The Stars (Ire) (lot 34); a Lawman (Fr) half-brother to G1 Coronation S. winner Qemah (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) (lot 37); a full-brother to triple Group 1 winner Charm Spirit (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) (lot 44); a half-brother to French champion 2-year-old Dabirsim (Fr) (Hat Trick {Jpn}) from the first crop of dual Derby winner Camelot (Ire) (lot 110); a Frankel (GB) half-sister to G1 GP von Bayern victor Seismos (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire}) and the 3-year-old filly Fadillah (Ire) (Monsun {Ger}), who topped this sale at €1.2 million in 2014 (lot 113); an Oasis Dream (GB) half-brother to G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud victor Morandi (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}) (lot 141); a Dansili (GB) half-brother to dual Group 1 winner Zagora (Fr) (Green Tune {Ire}) (lot 151); and a full-brother to La Cressonniere (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}), who recently completed the G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches/G1 Prix de Diane double (lot 154).
