Arqana has released the catalogue for its October Sale, which features 609 yearlings set to sell from Oct. 18 to 21.
The October auction has had strong representation on the racecourse this year, with former graduates of the sale including G1 Prix Jean Prat winner Zelzal (Fr) (Sea The Stars {Ire}), who was bought by Al Shaqab Racing for €180,000. Sheikh Joaan Al Thani's team also purchased fellow Group 1 winner Jemayel (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}) at the same sale for €100,000, while her runner-up in the Prix Saint-Alary, Camprock (Fr), was sold to trainer Pia Brandt for €30,000.
A total of 575 of the yearlings to be offered for sale have been signed up for eligibility for the new €250,000 October Yearling Sale Criterium, which is to be run over a mile on Sept. 30, 2017, the eve of the G1 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Part I of the October Sale is formed of 222 lots and takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 11am, while the following three days of the sale are devoted to Part II.
