ATR Secures Irish Broadcast Rights

At The Races has secured the exclusive broadcast rights for Irish racing until 2019. ATR has been the exclusive non-terrestrial TV broadcast partner to Irish racing since the channel's launch in 2004 and the agreement signed with rights holder SIS will see the company extend its coverage of racing from all 26 Irish racecourses for a further two years. Under the terms of the new agreement with SIS, ATR will continue to manage and distribute live online streaming of Irish racing to remote gambling operators worldwide while retaining its existing rights, under separate licence from SIS, to the exploitation of Irish racing in international retail betting outlets.

Matthew Imi, chief executive of ATR, commented, “Irish Racing has always been a cornerstone of ATR's output. We quite deliberately set out to give it the prominence and exposure it deserves. The record numbers of Irish winners at both Cheltenham and Royal Ascot this year show just how strong the sport is in Ireland so we are delighted to be able to showcase it on a daily basis with live coverage of every Irish fixture and editorial and promotion across our platform.” Horse Racing Ireland's Brian Kavanagh added, “We are very pleased that At The Races and SIS have reached agreement over a new term. It was always our preferred outcome that Irish racing should continue to enjoy the many benefits that coverage on ATR brings and we value the support of ATR immensely.”
