Group-placed 3-year-old High Spirit (Aus) (High Chaparral {Ire}), second in the one-mile G3 Sunshine Coast Guineas for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum and trainers Peter and Paul Snowden July 2, is headed to Hong Kong after being sold privately to the Fung family's Aquis Farm. Prior to the Sunshine Coast Guineas, High Spirit finished fourth in the G2 Queensland Guineas June 11. He will target next March's Hong Kong Derby.

“Mr Fung wanted to buy a lightly raced Australian horse with upside potential to give his Hong Kong trainer Danny Shum every opportunity to show how he can improve horses in the next year or so,” said Aquis Farm Racehorse and Sales Manager Kacy Fogden. “He has a great mindset and is a very relaxed horse which will be perfect for Hong Kong.”

The deal was brokered by Magic Millions, and that company's Sales Director David Chester said, “Magic Millions is delighted to have been able to broker the sale of another high-class Australian galloper to Hong Kong. I must thank Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum's Victorian-based manager Tim Stakemire for his professionalism and I most certainly wish the new connections at Aquis Farm the best of luck. Mr Fung has quickly developed Aquis Farm into one of the country's leading operations, with high-class stallions standing at their farm in Queensland and an always-growing quality racehorse stable around the world.”
