Going from a six-furlong Goodwood maiden win July 26 to Veliefendi's International Trakya Trophy Sept. 4, Best Solution was third in that contest over the same trip before finishing fourth meeting traffic in the G3 Tattersalls S. over seven furlongs here Sept. 22. Relishing this step up to a mile, the bay shadowed the early leader in second before moving up to take control passing the two-furlong pole and staying on to provide William Carson with a first group success. “It's nice to be given these opportunities and it's easy horses when you've got the horses to do it,” commented his rider, who is a grandson of the famous Willie Carson. “He was unlucky last time and he stayed on very well. The ground is perfect for him and he was always pulling out more. It took me a furlong to pull him up and he's probably been a bit playful and babyish before, but he's learning the whole time.” Saeed bin Suroor added, “He's doing good and is improving. We could take him back to Dubai for the big races there. The G1 Racing Post Trophy will come too soon.” Zainhom's connections were pleasantly surprised, with the Shadwell racing manager Angus Gold saying, “I thought he ran a lovely race. He has a tendency to be a little bit keen and being drawn out wide, we ended up getting shuffled back but he came through his rivals well. It looked like he was unbalanced in the dip. He's a big, heavy horse and this is not necessarily the most likely track for him. He's done it the right way on only his third run.”
Al Andalyya shares her group-placed dam Kushnarenkovo with the G2 Prix Hocquart and G3 Sandown Classic Trial runner-up Cape Clear Island (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}). The third dam Eva Luna was a G3 Park Hill S.-winning European highweight who produced some notable types including the G1 St Leger hero Brian Boru (GB) and the MGSW and GI Breeders' Cup Turf runner-up Sea Moon (GB) (Beat Hollow {GB}), while her unraced daughter Soviet Moon (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) was the dam of the G1 Epsom Derby and G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe hero Workforce (GB). The dam also has an as-yet unnamed yearling colt by Epaulette (Aus).
