Back To Sprinting For Lady Kaya

G1 1000 Guineas second Lady Kaya (Ire) (Dandy Man {Ire}) will drop back to six furlongs for the G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, according to trainer Sheila Lavery. Lavery, however, is not ruling out going back up in trip at a later time.

“She is great,” Lavery said. “She's amazing and if only they were all like her to train, she's unbelievable. She's just so easy and she drank and ate the whole way home. She hasn't left a nut. Obviously we haven't ridden her, but she's in great form.

“I think we'll go for the Commonwealth now. She'll have a little break now and then I think the Commonwealth is the next port of call. I think we could mix it up with her from a stiff six to a soft mile.”

Lady Kaya is currently 14-1 for the Commonwealth Cup, with Calyx (GB) (Kingman {GB}) favoured at 6-4.
