Bad Scope For Byron
Evergreen sprinter Gordon Lord Byron (Ire) (Byron {GB}) returned a dirty scope after an eighth-place finish in Saturday’s G2 Greenham S. at The Curragh, according to trainer Tom Hogan.
“He blew abnormally during the race, which he shouldn’t have done as he was pretty fit, so we scoped him immediately afterwards and his scope was dirty,” Hogan explained. “It was nice to find something and we’ll just have to sort ourselves out now and see how things are in a couple of weeks.”
The 7-year-old’s Royal Ascot participation could be in jeopardy.
“We’ll know a bit more about whether he’ll make the [G1] Diamond Jubilee [at Royal Ascot in a couple weeks],” Hogan said.
