Lope de Vega (Ire), the sire of four Group 1 winners this year, heads the 2018 roster for Ballylinch Stud at a fee of €60,000. Ballylinch Managing Director John O'Connor said, “Lope de Vega has established himself as a leading international sire and in 2018 sees the start of his biggest and best crops hit the track, so the future looks very positive for him.”
Classic winner New Bay (GB) is set to stand his second season at an unchanged fee of €20,000. “New Bay got great support not just from outside breeders but also his shareholders,” O'Connor added. “China Horse Club sent 20 quality mares and have already committed 20 again to him for 2018. Juddmonte have also sent him some real nice mares and will continue to do so next season. We are really looking forward to seeing his first foals arrive and if they have his quality we know we are off to a great start.”
Two Ballylinch sires are represented by their first foals this year: Make Believe (GB) and Fascinating Rock (Ire), and they will stand for €15,000 and €10,000, respectively.
