Ballylinch Stud Invest In Fas

Fas winning the G3 Prix Sigy | Scoop Dyga

Ballylinch Stud have purchased a 60% share of progressive French sprinter Fas (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}). The Pia Brandt trained 3-year-old is unbeaten in two starts this year and his last time out victory in the G3 Prix Sigy now reads well given the subsequent Classic victory of his immediate victim that day Precieuse (Ire) (Tamayuz {GB}). The colt's next engagement could be the G1 Darley July Cup but his trainer is monitoring the weather forecast before committing. “We'll keep an eye on the ground and the weather for him as he is still in the July Cup,” Pia Brandt told the Racing Post. “The alternative would be the [G1] Maurice de Gheest and no decision has been made yet but the horse is well.” Fas has a speedy pedigree, his dam Sotka (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}) was listed placed over five furlongs as a juvenile but more significantly she is a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Sole Power (GB) (Kyllachy {GB}). Ballylinch Stud already have one son of Fastnet Rock on their roster in the former Dermot Weld trained Fascinating Rock (Ire).
