Beckett Looks to Build on Oaks Trial Fortune

Mountain Bell created a big impression when winning a soft-ground 10-furlong maiden at Windsor by 10 lengths on her 3-year-old introduction Apr. 11, and hails from the Ralph Beckett stable responsible for three of the last nine winners, including the subsequent Epsom Oaks runner-up Secret Gesture (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) and also the 2008 runner-up Look Here (GB) (Hernando {Fr}), who went one better at Epsom. “She should be suited by the step up to a mile and three furlongs,” her trainer said. “I was delighted with her seasonal debut at Windsor and hopefully she can step up on that. She shows up well at home, but I didn't expect her to win like that. It may not have been the strongest race in the world, but she can only do what is asked of her. I think she will handle the track fine.”

Hugo Palmer saddles Architecture, who scored over a mile at Nottingham in October and her trainer commented, “She is a gorgeous filly with plenty of scope and I am pleased with what she has done over the winter. Obviously the first port of call is to try to get some black-type with her. She has got the Oaks entry and hopefully she is special enough to go there. I am pleased with what she is doing at home and I don't think she will have any problems with the track or draw.”
