Three-time Eclipse winner Beholder (Henny Hughes) returned to the track Friday for the first time since finishing second to fellow champion Stellar Winer (Curlin) in last Saturday's GI Clement L. Hirsch S. The Spendthrift Farm colorbearer galloped 1 1/16 miles under regular exercise rider Janine Painter and a decision has not been made as to whether she will defend her GI Pacfic Classic title Aug. 20.
“Everything looks fine but I'm not even going to think about it for the next couple days,” Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella said Friday. “We'll gallop her for the next couple days and then maybe I'll start thinking about it.”
