A colt by Bernardini set the OBS sales ring ablaze Tuesday, selling for $900,000 to the bid of Betty Moran's Brushwood Stable. The strapping bay was consigned by Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds LLC, agent, which purchased the youngster for $225,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale. Out of Rooneys Princess (Deputy Minister), a daughter of champion Princess Rooney, the juvenile is a half to stakes winner Prince Rooney (Tale of the Cat) and stakes placed V.I.P. Princess (Thunder Gulch). He worked a furlong last week in :10 flat. Bloodstock agent Reiley McDonald handled bidding via telephone on behalf of Brushwood.
